Method Of Aftaar
In His Name, the Most High
All praise belongs to Allah who;
Protects the Fearful;
Helps the Steadfast;
Raises the level of the Oppressed;
Destroys the Arrogant
Destroys the false "kings", and replaces them with Just Leaders.
All praise belongs to Allah;
Destroyer of the Oppressors;
Finisher of the Tyrants;
Watcher of the Captives;
Helper of those who Cry for Help;
The One who meets the needs of those who Cry for Assistance;
Supporter of the Faithful.
(From Dua al-Iftitah)
It is preferable to offer 'Salat-al-Maghrib' and then break one's fast, preferably with luke warm water, milk or dates.
It’s good 2 give alms in the name of Allah(s.w.t) at the time of aftaar.
Recite Soorah Al-Qadr as much as one can before the aftaar till the imsaak/sahar time.
Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.w) said:
“O' People! if anybody amongst you arranges for the' Iftar' (food for ending of fast at sunset) of any believer, then,
Allah will give him the reward as if he has set free a slave. He will forgive his minor sins.”
Then the companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.w) submitted:
" But everybody amongst us did not have the means to do so."
The Prophet (s.a.w.w) told them:
"Keep yourself away from the fire of Hell, by inviting for if tar, though it may consist of only half a date or simply
with water if you have nothing else. O' People! anyone who may cultivate good manners, in this month will walk
over the 'Siraat' (Bridge) in 'Qiyamat', though his feet may be shaking.
Ayatullah Allama Hilli(r.a) reported in Risala-e-Sadiyia from Imam Jaffer Sadiq(a.s) dat:
“A person who arranges da aftaar of a momin brother he will get the thawab (heavenly reward) of freeing 30 slaves and Allah(s.w.t) will grant one of his wish.”
The following Dua may be recited at the time of breaking one's fast:

ALLAAHUMMA LAKA S'UMTU WA A'LAA RIZQIKA AFT'ARTU WA A'LAYKA TAWAWKKALTU
O my Allah, for Thee, I fast, and with the food Thou gives me I break the fast, and I rely on Thee
Ameer ul-Moomineen Ali Ibne Abi Taalib (A.S.) used to recite the following du'a before Iftaar:

BISMILLAAH ALLAAHUMMA LAKA S'UMNAA WA A'LAA RIZQIKA AFT'ARNAA FA-TAQABBAL MINNAA INNAKA ANTAS SAMEE-U'L A'LEEM
In the name of Allah, O Allah, we fast, and with the food Thou gives us we break the fast, an obligation we fulfill, and Thou art Hearer, Knower
While taking the first mouthful recite:

BISMILLAAHIR RAH'MAANIR RAH'EEM YAA WAASI-A'L MAGHFIRATI IGHFIR LEE
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful, O He whose indulgence is boundless, forgive me
Imam Amir ul Mu'mineen Ali [a] said: "Two things cause people to be destroyed (and lead unto Hell): fear of poverty, and seeking superiority through pride."
So b cautious of both fasts tends 2 make us humble…
